Since we’ve been discussing patience for twenty two days now, I’ve realized there are some items that accompany my thought process on patience. Namely, pain and endurance. Endurance is a nice way of saying sorry pal, this race never ends.
Patience is a virtue that is constantly on the run. So are the other traits we’d like to be like graceful or forgiving. These attributes don’t just come to you one day and stick around. You learn to ride a bike and you always know how to ride a bike; you learn to run a marathon and then you run more marathons.
So, as we’ve spent the better part of a month together discussing patience, please have patience with me tonight. And also you can be forgiving. I am trying to find the words and they aren’t easy or fast this evening. Some days you just wake up and go on the path marked for you – no extra energy, no extra thoughts. Today was one of those, but tomorrow will be better. Endurance, people.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus. [Hebrews 12:1-2]
